:: much ado about "nothing" part deux - an update ::

OK - the MUCH talked about, EAGERLY anticipated Precipice compilation is OUT - YEAH! Git yer info on how to get it HERE .

ALSO - an update on the SYNTHVOX comp. I've decided to go with one of my fave entries from the PLP remix contest - ScarKord. His original remix was already bad to the bone, but he's tweaked it a bit since the contest - (upon my request... Jason, you are really too kind as I know I can be QUITE annoying :) - and now it's BAD ASS. The new remix with it's ultra-funky new ending is utterly addicting... stay tuned for details on how to get your fix. :)

much love,
la reina

Greetings from Melbourne aka Hurricane Alley, FLA !!!
Firstly, thanks to everyone who has emailed expressing concern. Sorry to not get back with you sooner but we've been a bit swamped - pun intended. :)

We are personally all fine and suffered no major damage whatsoever- which is somewhat miraculous considering we were gound zero for two hurricanes and in the general vicinity of four. Others - friends and family included - did not fare so well and our hearts go out to them. We were very lucky indeed. Thanks to all of you who kept us in your thoughts and prayers... MOST appreciated. :)

Very sincerely,
Mary Pastorius

:: QM goes GRAMMY ::

For those of you who don't know, my father is the late great musical genius/innovator/composer/phenom, Jaco Pastorius - aka "the World's Greatest Bass Player". On June 6th, my brothers John, Julius, Felix and I took great pride in accepting on behalf of our dad, the 'GRAMMY Hero Award' which is the academy's highest honor. Although he did win several Grammy's when he was alive for his work with artists such as Joni Mitchell and Weather Report, many felt it was a crime that NARAS did not acknowledge his groundbreaking solo efforts such as "Jaco Pastorius" and "Word of Mouth". By the time my dad was 25 years old he had literally forever changed not only the bass guitar but the entire musical landscape around him. Unfortunately, by the time he was 35 he was dead. That was almost 17 years ago so needless to say we are very happy to have accepted this long overdue award on his behalf. GO DADDY!!!

read about it and see the pics

Many of you young punks/musicians/rockers out there may not have ever even heard of my dad, but I can guarantee you that many of the artists you are listening to consider him a hero. As a matter of fact, I have been told personally by musicians such as Sting, Flea, and Robert Trujillo (Metallica) that my father was and continues to be a tremendous influence on them both musically and personally - and these are only three of the MANY. So do yourself a favor and check out my pops one of these days when you have a sec. :)

all my best,

:: QM play Winter NAMM in Anaheim, CA ::

QUEEN MARY mixed it up with their peoples on Thursday and Friday, January 16 and 17th in Los Angeles, CA. They knocked 'em cold at the Sampson Technologies After Party Friday night at the Anaheim Convention Center for about 400 VIP guests and music industry players. Peter Erskine's quartet opened the show and the Word of Mouth Big Band put the epilogue on the night's festivities. But the real magic was in the middle, harnassed by QM and company. -QM
